Within the diverse range of machinery being developed for different applications, PTFE coatings has a place, particularly in heat sealing and packaging. The ability of both Teflon® and Xylan® coatings to supply the answers to many engineering questions, has for many years, placed the industrial performance of PTFE coatings in a unique position. The number of coating systems that are now available gives the engineer every opportunity to select the appropriate PTFE coating for a particular requirement.
With such characteristics as low friction, non-stick and chemical resistance, PTFE coatings are well equipped to meeting the demands of industrial requirements. The uses are limitless, with the ability of PTFE coatings providing low levels of coefficient of friction and it’s durability in sliding and interface conditions. Rotating parts benefit from PTFE coatings, preventing galling giving excellent load bearing properties, such properties are key elements in high performance engineering.
Valve and valve bodies are given enhanced performance by the provision of dry film lubricant coupled with chemical and corrosion resistance, coatings will also have a significant impact upon wear resistance for mating parts. Lock mechanisms, bushes and bearings are given added value from PTFE coatings.
