    Industrial PTFE Coating Systems

PTFE Applied Coatings have for many years have taken the opportunity to apply coatings to some very demanding applications and we continue to meet the challenges that only Teflon and Xylan coatings can provide answers for.

Industrial coatings are varied and have many formulations that have been employed to resolve many engineering problems. Take a look at our Case Study page within our website. These are but a few examples of those customers that have benefitted from Teflon and Xylan coatings.

PTFE Applied Coatings is approved, by both Chemours and Whitford, to apply coatings to meet many aerospace, medical, industrial and military specifications. Coatings are applied by both conventional air assisted spray and electrostatically by state-of-the-art methods for ease of application, complete coverage and cost effectiveness. Teflon and Xylan coatings can be applied to many substrates, including metals, elastomers, composites, rubber, ceramics and glass. Most applications require a curing process of the coating, curing temperatures range subject to coating system and substrate. Our knowledge base of coating systems can be explored by contacting us through our Consultancy Service.

The range of available coatings have been formulated to serve the vast disciplines of applications required by designers. High performance coating systems are well suited for pumps, valves, fasteners for industrial and off-shore applications. Together with food contact compliant coatings together with compliant medical coatings, extends the applications where such Teflon and Xylan coatings can be specified.

The fluoropolymers used within the formulations include, PTFE, PFA, FEP, all of which can be of a single coating or multi layered system. The combination of chemical resistance, dielectric strength and the low coefficient of friction provides an unparralleld product for high performance applications. Manufacturers continue to develop solvent free coating systems to meet the demands needs of the environment.

Substrates to which Teflon and Xylan coatings can be applied range from stainless steel, carbon steel as well as aluminium and the various range of alloys. Non-metallic substrates, such as glass, elastomers and plastic can also have coatings applied. PTFE Applied Coatings can provide the appropriate guidance for the use and applications to such specialised substrates.

Developments of industrial coatings continue to gather pace by both Chemours and Whitford, such coatings will ensure the options for engineers remains strong and comprehensive.
